File Menu: Insert…
Selecting “Insert…” from the File menu allows you to insert a graphic or text into a scrapbook object.

You must first select one object in which to make the insertion before this menu item becomes active.

Selecting an object created by the Rectangle, Oval, or Shape tools will present a dialog box that allows you to select and insert any supported image file type.

Selecting an object created by the “Text” tool will present a dialog box that allows you to select any supported text file type.

The following is an example of the dialog box presented when a Rectangle object is selected then “Insert…” is selected from the File menu:

Navigating to a folder that contains the desired graphic (or text), selecting the file, then hitting the return key (or a mouse clicking on the “Open” button) will insert the graphic (or text) into the selected object. A mouse click on the “Cancel” button ends the entire process with no action.

Special Notes:

• Only one object can be selected for this feature to be accessible.

• Only supported graphic and text file formats are listed in the file selection dialog box.

• Each time you use “Insert…” it remembers the last selected source folder for the chosen graphic or text file.

• To save time navigating to the source folder for an insertion, from the Finder double click on the hard disk or storage device where you store your source graphics or text files, navigate to the folder, and then drag the folder into the lower left list of the window. This makes an “alias”, it does not copy or move the source folder or its contents. This presents a shortcut to this folder the next time you select “Insert…”. For example, note the folder named “My Documents” in the above dialog. It was selected with a mouse click to establish where to find the graphic files.
