“Fill” - Defined

“Fill” refers to how the interior of an iRemember object is drawn. Every object on an iRemember page has a set of optional Fill attributes specified using the Fill Tab of the Inspector.

The interior of each iRemember object is drawn with a combination of up to three layered components:

All drawing is clipped to the object's shape. The following picture illustrates a rectangle object filled with both a solid white Fill Color and a “heart” Fill Pattern.

Fill Color

If enabled the Fill Color is drawn first. The color is specified by clicking on the color well of the Inspector's Fill Tab. Objects filled with a solid color are frequently used for matting.

Fill Pattern

If enabled, the Fill Pattern is drawn second. The image specified in the Fill Pattern Well defines the pattern cell. The pattern cell is repeatedly drawn within its object to form the pattern. The attributes determining the cell spacing, size, opacity and rotation of the pattern cell are specified using the Inspector's Fill Tab

Fill Patterns are frequently used to create fun backgrounds.

While you may use any supported image file type within a pattern cell, PDF images are the best content for fill patterns because they are resolution independent and can be designed with no background of their own. Most of the PDF format clip art included with iRemember is saved with no background. This enables your pattern to be layered “on top of” any Fill Color you desire.

Image

If the object has an embedded image, it will be drawn last. Attributes for the image are specified using the Inspector's Image Tab

NOTE: the image may completely obscure any Fill Color or Fill Pattern. Even though your image may completely hide the Fill Color, you may wish to leave the Fill Color enabled since it has a direct affect on the way objects are shadowed. You will not normally use an embedded image in combination with a Fill Pattern.
