iRemember at a Glance
The following is an active scrapbook window with its page drawer open. The key elements are summarized below.

(1) Scrapbook Window - The scrapbook window presents the active page and provides you with a page drawer, ruler, zoom popup menu, and other functionality necessary for you to create a scrapbook.

Each scrapbook page displays objects you create and place.

You can drag and drop images onto a page, which creates a Rectangle object with the image embedded in it.

You can drag and drop text onto a page, which creates a Text object with the text embedded in it.

You can use the Tools Palette (not shown above) to create and modify objects.

The scrapbook window reflects the current status of the scrapbook file (stored on a storage device--such as a hard drive) following the use of the Save, Save As…, or Save All commands.

It is good practice to save your work often.

(2) Page Drawer - The page drawer presents a thumbnail of each page in the scrapbook, labeled with the respective page number.

(3) Ruler - The ruler displayed on the top and left side of the scrapbook window allows you to accurately place and align object(s) on a scrapbook page.

(4) Zoom Popup Menu - The Zoom popup menu shows the current zoom level and allows you to directly set the level.

(5) Background or Template - The first object you place on a new empty scrapbook page should be a background or a template.

You add a new empty page to a scrapbook using the Add command in the Page menu or by mouse clicking on the “+” button in the bottom of the page drawer.

A background is just a Rectangle object with an embedded image that you must resize to the current page size using the Fit To Page command (Creating Backgrounds) in the Arrange menu. You place and modify additional objects on top of this background to complete a scrapbook page.

A template is a background with one or more objects already positioned over the background. The provided objects are ready for you to embed images or text. Think of a template as a pre-made scrapbook page that is only missing your personal content (images and text). Templates are available through the iRemember ClipArt application.

(6) Rectangle Object - This scrapbook has two Rectangle objects, each with a different embedded image.

There are three different types of objects that can have emedded images (Rectangle, Oval, and Shape).

Dragging a supported image file type onto a scrapbook page makes a Rectangle object by default and embeds the image in it.

You must use the Tools Palette to create an empty Rectangle object or to create Oval or Shape objects.

(7) Text Object - This scrapbook has one Text object, with embedded text.

Use the Tools Palette to create a Text object or drag a supported text file type onto the page.
